About Us
Beachside has been our home for over 30 years. First, when our son was young, it was our holiday home away from home. For the past 10 years it has been our main home. Now we, Barry & Carol, would like to share the magnificent experience of the Cornish seaside with you.
Location
The house sits directly on Carbis Bay Beach facing St Ives Bay. St Ives is to the left and Godrevy Lighthouse, the inspiration behind Virginia Woolf's To The Lighthouse, lies on the horizon, with The Towans, a three-mile stretch of golden sand, to the right. Adjacent to the property are the facilities of the Carbis Bay Hotel with fine restaurant, Beach Club and Spa, Ocean Sports paddleboarding, kayaking, and Hawaiian canoe rides.
The house is very close to the town of St Ives, with its range of shops, restaurants, art studios, and of course the Tate St Ives.
Travel
By road
From Exeter take the A30 all the way to the roundabout signposted A3074 St. Ives, entering Carbis Bay with "Becks" Fish and Chips on the right - proceed a couple of hundred yards and turn right onto Porthrepta Road - down to the station - over railway bridge and down towards the beach. "Beachside" parking space is on the right approximately 50 yards before the beach car park.
Rail
From the mainline station at St Erth you can change to the scenic St Ives branch line and alight at Carbis Bay Station, which is a 5 minutes walk down the hill to the beach.
Top tip: If travelling from London Paddington, hop on the FGW service that offers the Pullman Dining car!
