HISTORY
The property was originally a wooden cabin on sand. In 1937 an Art Deco building, called Homealong, was erected in its place and immediately featured in Ideal Home magazine. The windows and doors were manufactured by Crittal, featuring metal frames with small, glass panes, the type often seen in Poirot. In 1955 the property was divided: our side to the east was then known as Glimmering Seas and the part to the west remained Homealong. Later, in the early 80s, Homealong was split again and names were changed to Beachside, Seaspray and Shoreline. Over the 30 years we have owned Beachside the house has undergone many changes: the inclusion of an extension to the rear, central heating, and double glazing throughout. Eight years ago we retired to Cornwall permanently and had a total refurbishment, adding a first floor with a large double bedroom, including a seafront balcony and en suite bathroom. We improved the patio area and walkway onto the beach, and added a conservatory a couple of years ago to enjoy an unhindered view of the beach the whole year round, no matter what the weather.
